Opening as part of Angel of the Winds’ 2019 expansion project, Whiskey Prime Steakhouse featured high-end dining in a more casual atmosphere–a direction chosen to appeal the local rural demographic as much as an out-of-town visitor.

The logo creation and selection process occurred fairly late in the build-out. The decor, menus, uniforms and intended atmosphere were already in place before the creative team began working on logo concepts.

Several directions were experimented with as each designer in the team submitted their own concepts for consideration.

I chose this minimalist direction, based on the concept of a cattle brand, submitting a few variations on the same theme. After a few minor revisions this was the final result.

This logo translated so well to signage and menu covers, a custom metal brand was commissioned and used to literally brand the wood cutting boards on which bread and butter appetizers wereserved on.
